Re: [LI] >> Chipsets Hardware Tweaking and FAQ << Downgrading pppd & lpd??

Hi

One suggestion I have at the outset IS many times the SUBJECT is something
else and the BODY contents are something else, This is the FIRST AND THE
FOREMOST problem I can think of as far as SEARCHING the ARCHIEVES is concerned.
So please see to it that the SUBJECT line is in sync with the BODY of the
message.

Most of the Graphic Chip companies don't produce Video cards, They suplly it to
OEM card vendors who inturn make the cards. With some low end cards "N" number
of things can go wrong like the timing or voltages etc. Which could lead to
certain high end features (as far as that Chip is concerned) being messed up.

The X servers mostly are written in a Chipset centric manner and not all
the Video card vendors' products using the chipset may be tested so some of
the accelerated features can give problems.

As far as the Parallel port problem which Atul mentioned its not a Linux
problem EVEN in WINDOWS you can face this problem.

I agree , rather a FAQ could be maintained of the proper responses in
the list. For others to verify 1st before asking in the list. ( At a personal
level I have already started collecting many of the proper responses in the
list so that when I have time I can compile a FAQ).
