Re: [ News - Non Commercial ] Info Required
Ach so! Atul and Suresh are onto a good thing here!
Can I suggest that Sarin give as many SuSE boxes as he can to schools
and colleges in various cities? He can cite the local LUG as the
volunteer support contacts for installing/troubleshooting of this
product. We would be very glad to help out educational institutions
setting up and running Linux, Sarin would get accolades from both the
Linux and the educational communities, and Linux would have moved One
Step Further Towards World Domination.
Sarin, please do consider this mode. You might need to do a bit of
selling in the cover note to the school (all the Computer teachers
I've talked to have been quite Winduhs-struck), but the combination of
a free OS along with free support should be hard to resist; you might
like to add buzzwords like ``cutting edge'' and other such cra^H^H^H
motivational phrases <g> to get them hooked. If you're giving away
Pro versions of SuSE with all the databases, etc it will be a sure
winner. Please also consider a more free license for edu allowing
them to make multiple copies and installations from a single CD set.
If you like we can draw up lists of schools and contacts at the LUG
level and send them to you, after which you could contact them
directly.
Regards,
