[LI] Modem Configuration

Hi,
I want to know exactly how a connection to an ISP is made possible using
a modem.

i tried doing the same using kppp.
My modem is connected to the port COM4 is case of Win 95.
In case of Red Hat, i specified the port as COM4. Then i created an
account, specified the phone number and other information.
But when i do a connect, nothing happens. Even the telephone line is
free, and dial-tone is continuously on.

can somebody help me on this issue.
