Re: [LI] X v/s FBDev

Hi there Dude,
what he means is to remove the X link and create a new X link
and not to remove the already present server ! I hope you get it !
So need to do a gzip or anything unless you wanna save space. ;-)

in FBDev to change the resolution, you need to reboot ;-)
And that too you do not get acceleration also. ;-(
( But you can be happy if you use the e-lite version of
Enlightenment [sleep theme ;-)] and some cool configuration )

And in FBdev I get whatever resolution I want without any hassles ;-),
but just a reboot ;-( Thanks to Atul's Mode list ( otherwise I used
to be typing the number always [someone ought update the fb Docs]
I think I will do it and post it ;-)

I think I am getting to like FBDev even though it is not that fast as
normal
X. Anyone wants a screenshot of muh desktop ??? And you can show this
to your friends and make them convert to Linux ( it's been a week since I
went to my winduhs partition ;-) And don't feel like going there also.

Fine. Could be done. What I wish to do is retain X on my machine, say
compressed.
Instead of removing X, could I just 'gzip -r' it and keep it there? And
redefine
the symbolic link to point to FBDev?
