There was a DIFFERENT PROBLEM!
When you have NTFS on the only active dos partition, and if you try
installing Linux from the CD, the installation simply aborts.. I had to
make a 600 MB partition dedicated to DOS [initially] just for NT
booting. Only later couldLILO write to MBR.. am I making any sense?
