I do not understand why the idea is being thrashed.

I too have tried it and posted a mail on this. Those who really want to peek
in to the linux, must try it.

MS has already corrupted the current generation of software professional to
the extend that they can not even write a few lines of C code (All the gurus
on the list excluded), and afraid of dark screen.

If Linux Distribution (Read RH, Caldera etc)  continue its march in GUI way,
Linux too will go in MS way.

Counting chickens was never my sport. When Khader actually
finishes developing this distroless distro then we can create a
separate list at egroups (distro-name@xxxxxxxxxxx) and talk all
about it.

May this end here?  btw Khader - all the best (though yr idea does
sound like freebsd - which has been there, done that)
