800 * 600 * 1byte(8bits) / 1024 = 468.75 KB
800 * 600 * 2bytes(16bits) / 1024 = 937.50 KB
800 * 600 * 3bytes(24bits) / 1024 = 1406.25 KB
1024* 768 * 1byte(8bits) / 1024 = 768.00 KB
1024* 768 * 2bytes(16bits) / 1024 = 1536.00 KB
1024* 768 * 3bytes(24bits) / 1024 = 2304.00 KB
1 MB = 1024 KB
Some cards do VRAM compression, but I think the above holds generally true
for most cases.

I wear size 10 shoes. It is a good choice for me, but could be bad for
someone with a size 6 foot. ;-)
Some Yamaha chipsets are supported, some are not. The guy I talked about
had an unsupported chipset (is supported by te commercial sound drivers
for Linux, though).
