[LI] can't start x server

i have a cyrix 233-MII cpu and sis 6215 card. i have configured x 
using as many default options as possible:
i selected
2 button ms compatible mouse
generic vga card ,monitor and vga16 server but can't run X.it gives 
the following error message:

execve failed for /etc/X11/X (errno 2)
_X11TransSocketUNIXConnect :Can't Connect  errno 111 giving up
xinit:Connect refused (errno 111): Unable to connect to x server
xinit: No such process (errno 3):Server error.

pls hlp.
