Install 'libgpm1g-xxx.deb' and 'gpm-xxx.deb'.
Use gpmconfig to configure UR mouse in Debian GNU/Linux.
Choose the standard ms mouse protocol and not logi module.
Better still, after the gpm.conf is generated by gpmconfig; edit 
by  hand and set responsiveness at 7.

Use UR Logitech serial mouse instead of the ARTEC mouse.
