Hi,
    If I remember right, Linux does execute HALT instructions in
idle loops. The newer kernels also have support for APM CPU-idle
calls (same as Cpu-Idle and Waterfall for WinDoze). Rain uses some
kind of extreme cooling which could really lower your CPU performance
( does not always wait for idle loops) along with the usual
APM calls and HALT instr.
