Problem in X windows

Hi,
I have a problem with X windows. The mouse pointer appears like a band
almost like a flag inverted.My processor is cyrix MII and the
graphics card is s3 virge. The mouse is logitech 3 button mouse.
Can anyone advice me on what to do ?
P.S My version is PCQLinux 5.2
