Sure if com3 is detected by win then you should set it up so /dev/cua2 in
Linux. BUT (very big BUT) is your modem internal modem? If it is chances are
that it is winmodem and this you cannot use under Linux.

Yes, but if you have a Lucent Technologies Internal Modem, then you are in Luck. They have a set of working drivers for it.
Anyway, just give it a try at www.linmodems.org

And if you can find the drivers, well, let us know !!!
