Glibc - configuration and system unable to function
Hi,
Guess what, I messed up my system this morning.
Problem:
1. I downloaded the glib-1.2.9.tgz source and
installed
2. changed the path in /etc/ld.conf
3. ran ldconfig
4. Now no program functions
Distribution : Red Hat 6.1
I have tried to upgrade my system by using the
installation
disk.
It upgrades the system but does not boot.
It gives an init: /usr/local/lib/glib2.../lib...so.6
cannont
be found error.
Does this mean I am done for and have to reinstall
and reconfigure all over again or is there a more
logical way out?
Regards
Andrew
P.S. I dont have any offline documentation. just
need to boot my system as it has too much data.
Can I do a fresh installation/upgrade without
formatting the disk as this will erase all my data?
