Yes, Athlon is fully supported the kernel version after 2.2.12 (I don't
remember the exact minor number).

I installed potato from Test cycle #2 CDs, on my Athlon, and the installation
went off like a breeze. Hats off to apt. For the first time, I did a complete
install within an hour.
