Hello friends,
The i810 HOWTO is in the Intel Site, the URL is given below.
http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/intel810/linuxinstal.htm
Some snips form my i810 machine is given below.
All these lines in lieu of exiting lines in your /etc/X11/XF86Config
# **********************************************************************
# Graphics device section
# **********************************************************************
# Any number of graphics device sections may be present
Section "Device"
Identifier "i810"
EndSection
# **********************************************************************
# Screen sections
# **********************************************************************
# The Colour SVGA server
Section "Screen"
Driver "svga"
# Use Device "Generic VGA" for Standard VGA 320x200x256

Subsection "Display"
Depth 16
Modes "1024x768" "800x600"
ViewPort 0 0
EndSubsection
EndSection
For sound the i810 chipset has an es1371 card
so a modprobe es1371 should do the trick
My Modules file reads ( I use Debian )
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file should contain the names of kernel modules that are
# to be loaded at boot time, one per line. Comments begin with
# a #, and everything on the line after them are ignored.
