Callback problem

I tried installing callback. I added the following line in my /etc/inittab
file.
mo:23:respawn:/conf/callback/cbmgetty ttyS1

The path is correct. But when i restart the computer i get a message 
initlevel mo respawning too fast disabled for 5 minutes. I even tried the
init q command  as suggested by my friend. Still it fails to work. Can
anybody help me out??
