 What output is produced on connection? I don't think there is problem
with dymanic IP address. I use kppp and there is an option to put dynamic
IP address. But the best is read 'man ppp' for very quick and concise
information.

 As a standard measure(for those all dial up does not work), set 'noauth'
in /etc/ppp/options. Also check the type of authentication you are
using.(pap/chap/terminal based etc.)

 I think this problem is discussed on the list. Even then if you produce
the exact error message you get, that will be of help.
