I also faced a similar problem. I overcame this by creating a 
primary partition of 4 GB for Windows, the remaining going into an 
extended  partition. The extended partition was left alone. No drives 
were created here. 

Then I started up RH Linux 6.1 and defined the Linux partition of 2 
GB using Disk Druid (and a swap for 128 MB). I left the remaining.

After installing Linux, I started Windows and created a drive for 
Windows using the remaining space in the extended partition.

Otherwise you can create a 4 G partition for Linux and install it, 
choosing to boot from the Linux boot partition instead of the MBR. 
Then install Windows using the remaining space in the drive.
