[LI] LILO protection

Many people have had their LILO wiped out because of a Windows install.
Here is a way to protect yourself against this:

When installing Linux, tell it to put LILO into the root partition (the
partition where /boot is located - this would be the /boot partition if
you have set up a separate /boot partition as is strongly advised).

Now boot the machine. You may or may not see the LILO prompt. If you have
Windows installed it might still boot into Windows. Don't worry - just run
fdisk, and change the active partition TO THE PARTITION THAT YOU INSTALLED
LILO TO.

That's it - next time you boot, you will get the LILO prompt. You can
still boot Windows by typing "dos" (press TAB to see what images are
installed), though of course you really just want to hit Enter to get into
Linux.

Now, if at any time you are forced to reinstall Windows, and if you
suddenly find yourself booting into Windows, just fire up fdisk again and
set the active partition back to the one that you installed LILO to.

This is also the *only* guaranteed way of using LILO with Windows NT/2000.
