Okay,	
    At last, I found info on the HP website
http://www.hp.com/cpso-support/deskjet/solutions/prq/cartclean.html
wherein there is enough info about cartridge cleaning etc. using buttons
on the printer. Hope this helps lots of other DeskJet users.
