Sorry, I must withdraw the above. I must have got keyed up too soon!! On 
trying to remember the details, I find that there were probably other  
aspects, and I cant remember them clearly anyway. For one, the dups came in 
ping outputs from a SCO Unix box with a D-Link DE-400 (eisa) card (the 
correct driver had been loaded though), but when we got a Slackware Linux 
with a ne2000 clone the dups were not there. I'm not at all sure  
about the connection with the change of router. Just to clarify.
