[LI] Destination Host Unreachable???

hi,
when I ping to my router , I get the message :
DESTINATION HOST UNREACHABLE.
      Does this mean that there is no physical connection with the
host (i.e. , wires not properly connected) or does this
indicate that I have not configured properly.
Please help. I am at my wits end. Thanking you in advance ...
