Sunil,
Taking out LILO from MBR is quite easy but make sure that you have made your bootdisk(just in case) before you remove LILO. One of the ways is that you boot into your other OS (I presume u hv one since you were using LILO) say Windows and at the command prompt type "fdisk/MBR" - it will rewrite the MBR of your hard disk. To restore the system - boot into LINUX using bootdisk and at the shell prompt run "LILO" & LILO will installed again.
