Can u send output of "ifconfig eth0"alsong with "lsmod".. that will be
helpful.
Is the problem with normal "ping" did u issue it as "ping some_machine"..try
out with size of packet..
Give

ping some_machine -s 100

may be problem might be with short(sorry..) or long packet..!!
