XFS supplied with RH6.1 has inbuilt TTF support.
All you need to do is to copy all yuor favourite fonts to some directory
like
/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/ttf

go to that directory and issue a command
ttmkfdir -o fonts.dir
add the path of this font using the "chkfontpath" command ( check *man* for
exact syntax )
restart XFS and you should have all your fav TTF fonts
They show up as belonging to the family *monotype*
