[LI] POP 3 server problem

 Hi 
 i am trying to set up a pop3 server on our lan 
 on RHL 6.0 box
 I have uncomented the necessary inetd.conf line
and when I telnet to the port the follwing messages
are coming
 $ telnet 10.0.6.44 110
Trying 10.0.6.44...
Connected to 10.0.6.44.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.  
$
  I am unable to retrive mail from the server
 can anybody tell me what is the problem
