I in fact installed Abiword from PCQ Nov. 99 CD. However I was unable to open
Word 97 files using Abiword hence uninstalled Abiword from my machine.

I had installed SO 5.0 on Red Hat 6.1. After running setup it gave some warning
that some glibs are not found on the machine do you want to continue ? I
replied yes and the installation went on smoothly. I even loaded SO and
individual packages. But not used SO 5.0 since it asks for registration. I got
SO 5.1 and now running it without any problems. Many people have posted on the
list that Red Hat 6.1 takes care of both glib libraries. Since they have used
SO 5.0 it might be working on Red Hat 6.1. I am not sure.
