Well I'm sorry if it hurt anyone's feeling. Can U tell me what are the tools
to maintain hard drive for error check and defraging etc.

Hello PAnchal,
Are you talking about hdd maintenance in Linux ? If you are
talking about Windows.. send personal mails or join Win NEwsgroups/lists !

In Linux, the filesystems (analogous to what we call FAT16/32/NTFS
in the win world) are not prone to fragmentation. Especially the newer FS
like ext2 or the upcoming Reiser etc.. so you do not have to worry about
that !
When you boot your computer the filesystem checking utility is
autorun (fsck) .. so you do not have to bother about it. If there is
something wrong with your FS .. you get error messages and it is better to
answer "Yes" when presented with the choice "FIX <Y/N> ?" unless you are
sure of what u r doing.

For more info.. man dumpe2fs and e2fsck

Just a friendly request.. could you only quote pertinent lines
from an earlier e-mail when you reply to some thread and not just be done
with hitting the "Reply-To" button .. thus sending the whole jalopy-wagon
text back on an ardous circuit ? I got out of this bad habit just ten days
back and I guess all of us should get used to this listiquette.

	Wishing you the very best..
	Regs
	Shourya
