[LI] setup mailserver

hi,
i need some help/info on setting up a mailing system in my company. as of now 
we are using exchange server and outlook as clients. i am trying to convince
my boss to shift from MS to LINUX. 

i need to change the server part so that the end users should not know the
difference. 
if some info is available on the net , kindly give the url.

all tips will be welcome.
