atul posted a mail on this ... and if you refer archives about 4 weeks
back...they were all over the pages. please read them - its no point if
you're on the list and not read the mails going through
anyway , do this

vi /etc/inittab
there should be a line that says id:3:default or some such...change it to
id:5:default

um , you are never "forced" to do stuff AFAIK

do a # lilo -v  - that should tell you what the problem is... the output
of that posted to the list could help.
