Hey jeff,
         try using those scripts that Atul gave in the PCQ mar mag(the one
with rh5.2).
U will have to be careful while copying those scripts(about spaces I mean).
try  http://linuxindia.virtualave.net they have something like a modem/VSNL
howto.

Hi all,

Whenever I get connected to the net through kppp i.e. when pppd is supposed
to start, it gets disconnected immediately and kppp starts dialing again. I
checked the ip-up.local and ip-down.local files inthe /etc/ppp/ dir are
there. I can't figure out why? Please help.
