This ~can't~ be done with majordomo.  LSOFT Listserv does this 
and much more - but again, it costs some serious money (though 
there is a free version for lists of 500 subscribers or less).

AFAIK, there are various types of mime/digests - 

text digest (like the standard linux india digest)

with headers (like several rfc822 <email> attachments in a single 
mail - the from:, subject: and date: headers are retained in each 
mail)

sendmail style headers (all the headers are replicated)

etc etc.
