You can connect them via PPP without any routers.

See the PPP howto (towards the end). You will need to connect
the leased line modem to the serial port. If the leased
line modem does not give you a RS232 o/p , I guess you will
need some converter.

You will have better throughput if you use Sync commn , instead
of via the serial port, but the serial port is simpler.
