Hi,
	Linux is secure as long as your hardware is secure. There is no
real foolproof way to protect your system if your hardware is not safe.
Linux security is all about security at the software level it assumes that
all the hardware is secure. Even if you somehow disable the ""linux
single" option at boot time, you can always boot from a floppy, mount the
disk and do anything.

You may try to disable floppy boot by setting a password for the BIOS
setup. All it needs is a screwdriver to open the box and find the jumper
that makes the BIOS "forget" all the settings. Or you can even pull out
the battery.

If you really want to keep you filesystems safe, I remember reading
something about an encrypted filesystem can anyone throw more light on
this?
