[LI] Dial Up Speed

hi friends

I am connecting to internet using kppp with USR 56Kbps modem (VSNL)
If connecting  more than 33600 speed,  connection could not be
established.
some other characters are getting on the log screen , no "User name "
prompt

I tried with wvdial also (ie. from chip cd)

please help
