[Linux-India] critical error linux hangs

Hi,
My machine is not booting it comes till loading file system gives a message

EXT2-fs unable to read superblock

Kernel panic:VFS : unable to mount root fs on 16:05
""
stand alone id doesnt work in lilo boot : prompt
machine hangs ,
can any body help me out guys ,
