Error logging !

Hello All,
Some days ago, I remember someone asking the way to log the errors while
starting X. (some error 111 related thing)
The command is 
startx 2>some_filename  (errors will be logged to some_filename, since 2
is the error filenum)
And note that there's no point starting X in background (as it was on
that mail).
