ftp and telnet are so slow!!!



Well-known problem with the Linux box not being able to figure out the 
hostname of the box trying to connect to it (no reverse DNS).  Put the 
names and IP addresses of all the boxes on the LAN in /etc/hosts on
the Linux machine, and make sure that the line:

	order hosts,bind

appears somewhere in /etc/host.conf
