Hi,
If you want to boot into linux, you should bypass init(which
starts in runlevel 5). You could do this by -
a) Typing
lin single
at the LILO prompt(if lin is the option for linux). This
boots up into single-user mode. You can then modify your
/etc/inittab to change default to runlevel 3.
b) type "lin root=/dev/hdaxx rw" where /dev/hdaxx is your
linux partition and modify your default runlevel as above.
By the way wasn't it "respawning too fast" and not "reswapping...".
This maybe due to insufficient resources or some kind of error in
your library files or configuration.
