Are RPMs compatible between different distributions of Linux.

Could anyone please provide info whether the RPMs between SuSe & redhat
distribution of Linux are compatible.
Are there any steps to be followed to install a RPM of SuSe distribution in
Redhat Linux.
Any site providing info on this would be nice.
