Hi Atul,

I think you are very furious. I am sorry if I have heart you. I have great respect for you and
love your articles on PC QUEST and being an avid reader by subscribing to the magazine for
the last 4 years. I just wanted to tell you that both these cards never gave me
any problems in Windows 95 as well as Windows 98. They are running smoothly without any
hicups.

However you point regarding configuration in linux is correct. It took me a long time to configure
both these cards under linux and the sound from the sound card is Ok but not great and I can run
KDE in 800x600 resolution 16 bit , but in Windows 98 I get 1024x768 resolution 16 bit with the same
card. So as you say support for both these cards under linux is poor. 

When I purchased the PC I was not knowing the consequences of having these cards but since I was
happy with the way they function in Windows I never bothered about them. But now I am seriously 
thinking of upgrading both these cards since the future is Linux and I love linux and I have fallen in
love with linux in the last 2 months. ( I installed Red Hat Linux 5.2 from PCQ March in April ).

If you don't mind please suggest me the best option specially for Linux.
