Re: Cache and linux

One observation from me (apart from the cache problemo). We use Linux as our
gateway to the net on a dialup connection. So have to put up Xwindows and
shut it down a number of times in the day without shutting down the system.
The system is up the whole day, sometimes for more than 5 days without
shutting down.

But when the system is shut down, the shutdown messages are full of things
like

shutting down xyz.... No such pid
shutting down abc ... no such pid

I have no idea why this happens but I don have any problem with the setup.
