Wanting and having unfortunately are two different things. 

Saying that everyone should have the same experience does not gel with
clients. That is where the real world is - clients == Money == time for
OSS development.

So just as you say that you wouldn't want to implement non standard things
- I say - I want to - becuase it is there and a whole lot of people can
use it. In this case the fact is that a larger majority can take advantage
of it. Standards or no standards - numbers rule!

So that brings us back to the question - viability ... I  feel it
wouldn't viable for my company to say that we don't do stuff which shows
only on IE! Refer back to my previos message to see what strategy we use
in such cases. 

If you can afford to say clients demands be damned I would say you are
lucky!
