FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CALDERA AND LUTRIS TEAM TO PROVIDE ENTERPRISE CLASS JAVA WEB APPLICATION
SERVER

Caldera, Lutris Engage in Product Launch Activities

OREM, UT-March 13, 2001- Caldera Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CALD), the only
Linux company to license, build, certify and support SUN Microsystems'
Java on Linux, today announced an agreement with Lutris to ship the
Enhydra Open Source Java/XML application server with the next release of
Caldera's OpenLinux server product, code named "Project 42." In
addition, Caldera and Lutris will participate in cooperative product
launch activities.

Enhydra powers wired and wireless Web applications. Built on industry
standards, it supports Sun Microsystems' enterprise Java APIs as well as
XML and other W3C specifications.

"Enhyrdra recommends deployment on an operating system with a Java 2
compliant Java Virtual Machine. Caldera, with its license from SUN, is
the only Linux company that can do this," said Yancy Lind, chief
executive officer for Lutris.

"This combination of leading technologies benefits mutual customers by
providing a total end-to-end business solution in one package at one low
price," said Mike Ballengee, vice president of strategic alliances and
business development for Caldera. "Caldera's agreement with Lutris
serves as a template for the forthcoming Caldera launch partner
program."
