 Caldera's install is particularly good in this regard. SuSE's YaST is also
 excellent.  Debian's install is the least user-friendly (and the most
 powerful) IMHO. [from the mainstream distros, there may well be other distros
 around with varying degrees of user-friendly installs]

 Hey Binand - you had a PS1 value in your .sig which would simulate a dos
 prompt right? :)
