Go for debian, use minimum install, and then choose application as you
require.
Your requirement should fit in 40-50 Mb only.
BTW your requirement can also fit on floppy (1.44 Mb ).
I have done lots of experiment on squeezing linux, the smallest is just less
than 1.2 Mb.
