how come ?? i thought that their price rate was retty reasonable compared to
what some other dealers/resellers were upto.
I would say it is completely untrue that they are "looting". They were
spamming -- which is a completely different kettle of fish.
We had a long thread on these unfair dealers in Calcutta on the cal-lug
about 8 mopnths ago, iirc. it is a separate issue taht they were spamming.
personally for me, i didin't bother much, because the mails were few and far
between.. and that helped me stay on top of some news ("push fashion")
but I understand that for some that could be disgusting for some people for
a whole lot of reasons and i respect their opinions.
Please do not get confused on the definition of spam. The commercial aspect
was not objectionable, it was that it was unsolicited. If they set up a
proper mailing list, perhaps Shourya would subscribe and maybe I would not
(or vice versa). The point is that _we_ would have control over whether or
not we received these updates. I believe this is what they have promised to do.
To accuse them of "looting the public" is completely unfair. But I am
afraid it is a typical attitude of those who think it is somehow wrong to
try to make a living off linux. The vast majority of people do not have the
bandwidth to download iso images. For them GT is a valuable service.
