foo, bar, ... foobar ...

Hello World,

Can someone let me know, what do the words foo, bar, and
foobar stand for, or rather signify.
I know that their origin is in the Usenets, but _NO_ book
(at least the ones I have read)
could supply me the info regarding their meaning.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers !
Amar :)

Result! Why, man, I have gotten a lot of results. I know
several thousand things that won't work.
