i agree one hundred percent with Neil (;-))
Linux i believ (or for that matter, ne course) is useless with hands on exp.
and the institutes today suck at that
get hold of a linux box, start playing around with it,
get some project (self decided frmo newhere on the net, neil + others too
can help u in decidnig one...)
and work on it...
