forget the less ram part. all java ides are real ram hogs. Personally i use
either JBuilder or IBM Visual Age for java. Jbuilder is the best java
environment for writing java code, and deploying them, and Visual Age for
Java has the best java debugger. But both are big ram hogs. To do any
serious java development, 128MB of ram is the minimum you should have. 256MB
wud be more like the amount you will need if u do any medium sized project.
Also jbuilder under linux works quite well...
